04 · Build your portable-generator checklist

Use the video as a visual aid and your manual as the operating reference.

Before operation

  1. Model and site: confirm the manual and choose an outdoor location that satisfies all exhaust, ventilation, fire, and weather precautions. Keep the unit stable and level.
  2. Condition: inspect for loose or damaged parts and oil or fuel leaks. Resolve faults before operation.
  3. Oil: use the manual’s oil type, range, and checking method. On the 3300i, check with the engine stopped and level; rest the cleaned dipstick on the fill neck without threading it in to read the level.
  4. Fuel: use the specified fuel. Stop the engine and allow it to cool before refueling outdoors; address spills and leaks before starting.
  5. Loads: check the equipment ratings and account for starting demand. Follow the manual’s starting and connection sequence.

After use

Follow the model’s load-disconnection and stopping sequence. Let hot surfaces cool before handling. Record hours and maintenance; read the storage and transportation section before putting the unit away.

Know when to stop

Leaks, damaged parts, abnormal behavior, or recurring protection trips need attention before further operation. Contact RVMP support with the model, serial number, connected equipment, and observations.

Make it yours

On a sheet of paper, fill in: model; manual revision; approved fuel; oil-check page; rated and starting output; start/stop pages; next maintenance due. Leave any uncertain item blank and ask RVMP to confirm it.

Find parts and accessories by exact model and verify fitment before ordering.
