Know what to check. Know when to call.
Build confidence with a practical, manual-based introduction to your RVMP generator. Seven short lessons and two knowledge checks guide you from safe preparation to a clear service handoff.
What you’ll learn
- Identify the correct manual and recognize conditions that require you to stop.
- Check the basics before starting and describe common symptoms accurately.
- Interpret model-specific indicators and distinguish maintenance reminders.
- Find parts, manuals, and qualified service when you need them.
Models: 2800i, 2800e, 4000i, 4000e, 4000em, 5500i, and 5500e installed generators. Portable-generator manuals are in the library; portable operating procedures are outside this course.
Format: About 40 minutes, self-paced. Preview the lessons, then sign in and join to save progress and complete the quizzes. No prior technical training required.
This introductory course supports safe owner checks. It does not replace the manual or qualify learners to perform internal electrical, fuel-system, or ECU service.
